In comparing the costs of ClassicalFree Virtual Academy with other Christian on-line schools it is important to remember that there really is no comparison. That is because ClassicalFree is the world's only on-line Classical Christian Academy. Thus, we are dealing with the proverbial "apples & oranges". The closest thing to ClassicalFree on the secular side would be Laurel Springs School and the closest thing on the Christian side would be Escondido Tutorial Service. Even in the case of Escondido, a consortium that specializes in Classical Christian tutorials, the comparison is difficult because they are quick to emphasize that "we are not a school."

Nonetheless, for those who insist on comparisons, we have computed the following tuition payments for a semester (5 courses) at five popular on-line Christian schools, one classical Christian tutorial consortium (Escondido) and one secular web school (Laurel Springs). Our costs vary considerably by trimester; for example, the entire course of study for the 7th grade is free, but the tuition never rises above $696 per trimester. Even that is lower than all but one of the other schools listed below.

Part of the savings is due to the fact that we have no enrollment fees, no transcript fees, no handling fees, no registration fees, no user fees, no hidden fees, nor any other fees. When we say "every child deserves the rudiments of a classical Christian education free of charge", we are not just blowing smoke.

Bear in mind that our 15-week trimesters are 2 or 3 weeks shorter than a semester. We have no formal "mid-term" or "finals" week, so our students cover essentially the same material at a slightly faster pace. At the present time we offer only the essentials of a Classical Christian Education, with no frills or electives. The Trimester format permits year-round school with completion of a 6-year course of study in four years. Those who desire summers off may complete the program in six years.
